Real time kernel in Linux OS

My PC have Linux OS. I don't have any hardware with me. I want to compile kernel. In FreeRTOS\Source shall i write Makefile to compile kernel?

If you don't have any hardware what is the point of compiling the kernel? If you really want to do it I should install one of the ARM GCC distributions and then use one of the existing makefiles.
